Phoenix to Spokane Relocation.

Several months ago Abigail received an acceptance letter to Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, WA.

Wahooo.

Although she received said letter she was still waiting to hear from her first choice Santa Clara. Deadlines were short and a deposit had been paid and still no word from Santa Clara. Finally a wait list offer, not what we had hoped for but still closure at that point.

Now it was time to scurry and get everything finished and finalized with Gonzaga to ensure enrollment. Done, now my turn to register for community college. Got the necessary financial aide documents in on time and got admitted. No sweat.

Oh I failed to mention that the deadline for the paperwork was a day before our wedding. Which I will be addressing in another post that will link from here.

Alright, one major decision down and a new one presents itself. What about our jobs? Abigail's father presents a valid argument in that Ab is in the ground floor of a potentially successful start-up. Also said start-up has begun the negotiation process of offering and hiring Ab as a full time employee from the temp agency.

Negotiations ensue, many phone calls were placed, many thoughts were thought, feelings shared. Finally we decide that the best option between taking the offer and going to Spokane is going to Spokane to Law School. Especially after the company mentioned that regardless of the choice she made they would continue to employ her until she left.

Alright her job taken care of, now mine. I approach my GM with enough time left to train my replacement but not long enough for the company to cut their losses on me. Unfortunately where we are moving there are no locations of the restaurant where I work. Alright, looks like the plan is working out, I gave them my last day and will now have enough time to finish the packing and cleaning prior to the move.

Next decision, how do we go about moving this time, seeing as last time was a disaster which we learned our lesson from. (will expound upon in another post.) Mom and Pop Holman save the day and suggest moving companies, in addition to graciously offering to pay half the moving costs as a wedding present to Abigail and I.

Scheew, that is a large load of pressure off of our backs that we greatly appreciate.

Enough of my ramblings for now. So we are going to Spokane, WA. To live near mom and dadman and go back to school.

Plan on road tripping will be posting on this as well.
